Spokane is a vibrant city, with a river roaring through it, and an average of 260 days of sunshine each year. It is the historic gateway to the American West, started by missionaries working with First American tribes, and thriving as a rail hub. Its outdoor attractions run the gamut from whitewater adventures and supreme water and snow ski resorts, to nature trails and world-class golfing (33 courses!). If you’re not “outdoorsy”, Washington’s vineyards, wineries and microbreweries are renowned; and there are Broadway shows, live theatres, art exhibitions, the Museum of Arts and Culture, the Spokane Symphony and Sports Arena, lovely parks, a good transit system (also walkable neighborhoods) and a wide variety of conferences and fairs hosted here, year ‘round. There is something for everyone, every age, in Spokane!
